Every spare minute I have I am snatching time to write my Arbor low story...it isn't going so well with Christmas nearly here but I am happy to be writing. I loved Arbor Low and I can't get the image of all those cloak wearers gathered in the centre of the white stones, after it had gone dark. Seriously...it was like one of those moments when you are watching a horror movie and you are shouting at the screen ..."don't go down the dark ally!" Anyway, the slide show looks...well dark...because it was! Maybe we should have gone for sun up. Anyway aren't we lucky to have special ancient places just on our doorstep!
Thanks Grace for being just as crazy as me and agreeing to come to the Winter Solstice! Oh yeah and going with my dare about walking three times anti clockwise around the stones. They were defintely humming, or something was! I told you they would like the mince pies!

Arbor Low

Yes, Winter solstice is here and we are off to Arbor Low to watch the sunset. At the moment it is dark outside but the first grey light of dawn is showing me that it is a cloudy day but not raining - which is good. I still hope for a sunset so I can get some pictures. I'll take some anyway but I would like a picture of the henge as it should be seen - ushering in the new year and the return of warmth as the days begin to get longer.
Twilight

Yey - it wasn't so bad. In fact it was good, really good and Patterson did a good job of Edward, a very good job. Watch out for the first kiss scene! Just a shame about the hair - who made that crazy decision...
The settings were fantastic and the film is very beautiful ...but that's just my opinion.
PS vampires don't equal horror, stop reviewing it as a horror film!

Lost Boys The Tribe

Watched Lost Boys The Tribe last night (fast forwarded all the gory, scary bits - which took 30 mins of the film LOL). I just wanted a bit of inspiration and it worked. I wondered how Alex would feel watching it, how depressed it would make him feel being likened to a monster. He would definitely ban Pan from calling him the 'V' word and talking about 'drinking' or 'feeding'.
Anyway, don't bother with the film. The best thing in it was Tad. Just watch the original instead.

Dead Poets Society

I have just had an OMG moment. I have been messing around with the website and I was listing out some of the films that have inspired me and I was thinking hard and remembered the film Dead Poets Society. I watched it whilst doing my A levels and it inspired me and my friends enough that we created our own Dead Poets. 'Carpe Diem'. I had kind of forgotten the film but I have just realised that this is exactly what this web site (and the class before it) is - it's my new Dead Poets. It's scary that a film can have such a profound effect. I wondered why I felt so happy when I got our site up and running. Visit us at http://www.frivolousquill.co.uk/.

Frank

Hi girls, here's some pictures of Frank to brighten up your day. I didn't know you were big fans too but it kind of makes reading about Alex that bit more entertaining! Going now because I have a spare minute to write - well I got up early.
Hey Sarah - he's got his lip ring where you have yours so that's Alex sorted - I'll be sure to put in that he messes with it all the time! LOL

Website
Just updated the website. I'm getting proud.... yey! We have scheduled our first chat for this evening at 8.30, god knows how it will go. Just feel really happy that most of the work is done - just need the documents sorting out so I can load the Writing Course. The rest can build as we go!
I can't wait to launch it now - and invite some of the old crew (and a few new ones) back.

The Matthew
Oh dear I am supposed to be finished with Chapter one for the writing class but I keep putting off the Medieval part of my book even if I did go all the way to Bristol to view The Matthew (Medieval Boat) as part of my research. It was fascinating and I will be posting some pictures very soon.
Any way I best get to it!

Killers Album
Trying to get inspired and now feel frustrated because I am at work and can't write. I have been listening to the new Killers album and it is just awesome. Very deep and giving me loads of ideas as half the songs seem to be about my characters.
